Following its introduction to parliament last year, the Energy Bill (now the Energy Act 2023) has received Royal Assent and is designed to bolster energy security and net zero.
The Act creates a new regime for energy production, as well as regulation of the UK energy market, to deliver clean energy, positively impact climate change and increase energy security and resilience.
The Act will help the UK to deliver net zero in a realistic and achievable way by 2050, making net zero targets part of the Government's everyday decisions.
