Even today after over ten years in the industry we are still the only independent building and energy compliance company that has continued to invest in an in-house team of highly trained and professionally qualified technical staff, as opposed to operating as middlemen with a sales motivated team. We believe this will allow us to provide all our clients with unparalleled levels of technical expertise and customer service, whilst ensuring our fees remain extremely competitive.
It was back in 2007 when founder Karl Sharpe decided to sell his apartment and required a domestic EPC that he first became interested in the efforts to manage energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Having attained a masters degree from Northumbria University along with his experience at management level in the building and construction industry, both in the UK and Australia, Karl was able to understand and pick up the essentials as taught on the first of many training courses that he attended and paid for from inspections carried out by himself.
By working during the day and training during the evening he became qualified in Commercial EPCs, Display Energy Certificates and TM44 Air Conditioning inspections at both level 3 and 4; one of the very first government accredited people in the UK.
It wasn’t long until Karl’s expertise were being sought by clients all over the UK and in 2011 he decided to meet the increasing demand for EPBD services by bringing former business partner and lifelong fried Ian Campbell into the company as a director. Ian’s natural ability to analyse and understand the complex needs of different organisations in a wide array of industries enabled us to build long term partnerships with a range of large blue-chip and facilities management companies. This in turn allowed us to grow and diversify, adding other building compliance services such as TR19 kitchen extract cleaning and legionella testing to our portfolio.
Additional graduate technical staff were employed, undergoing rigorous training to assist in carrying out an increasing number of surveys and inspections, whilst a dedicated service team was formed to ensure that every single project we undertake runs smoothly and client satisfaction remains at the highest level.
Today and in the future we will continue to expand our in-house team of long serving and highly experienced staff so that we can confidently continue to offer the full range of compliance services to our ever growing and valued client base.
